Training

Beyond doing the onehundredpushups challenge (by the way how is that going for you?) I am also competing in tennis each week (won my singles match on Sunday) and training for a few upcoming races. Iplan on racing in the Peachtree City Sprint Triathlon, the Tugaloo International Distance Triathlon, the Berlin Marathon and the Atlanta Thanksgiving Day Half-Marathon. So as you can imagine I have been busy with running, biking and swimming. Last Friday I did a 10 mile run, it was hot, but I felt great. Today I had another big day of training, I needed to ride about 30 miles then get off the bike and run about 6 miles. It is two legs of my international distance triathlon and I needed to see how I did, well I did great thank you very much. My knees hurt a bit, but I am sure I will be fine by my next run (tomorrow). Here are two maps to show you what I rode and ran today. So if you see me out and about on the bike or running, stop and offer me some water, I will not likely turn you down. Peace

UPDATE: OBTW, I was a bit tired today because I was up late watching the Olympics, did you see the Men's 4x100m Freestyle race??? It was epic!

The Monastery

I was looking for some video to show you about Japan or Benedictines or something relaxing...but did not find much. I did however I did find the following video, and watch it until about 3:30 and you will see some photos, beyond on that you will probably not be interested. Of course you know that I will post photos myself once I get them.

Wii record

I know this is trivial but I thought I would share some good news. First the bad news...well Sunday morning I woke up with a sore throat. Went to the doctor Monday afternoon, I have tonsillitis, yuck I know but I am on the mend. The doctor forbade me from any strenuous activity this week, so no triathlon for me this Saturday. He told me if I would just rest some this week then on Sunday I will be ready for my retreat/trip to Japan. So no tennis last night, none tonight but when Deacon Salomon and I got home from dinner we played some Wii bowling (thanks to the Gilberts for letting me use their Wii while me family was in town and for letting me keep it during my illness). I was not having a good day on the Wii lanes, but then I figured it out. I have always wanted to play a game without leaving any pin up by the end of the game and I did it, but not before bowling 8 strikes in a row and setting a personal best score. Now to the photos.

You know when you are bowling and open up with 8 strikes it feels pretty good.

Then I finally bowled a game where there was not one pin left standing at the end of a frame or game...glad I am past all that, now if I could kick this tonsillitis! Peace

After the Court of Appeals luncheon, I had a meeting about an hour after the luncheon and about a mile away, so I found myself with some time to kill. So I stayed at the restaurant and worked a bit more on my Thank you cards for Christmas...so if you are waiting just know I send them out once they are all finished, so know that I am working on them and they should be in your mailbox soonly.
