Away for a few days
(image from CLSA)I am in Charleston SC for the Canon Law Society of America, Easter Regional Canonist Society meeting, sounds like fun huh? Okay I have to admit it does not sound as much fun but it is still quite interesting. We have an all star line up of presenters. Here are two big names...Msgr. Fred C. Easton, JCL and Fr. Fancis G. Morrissey, OMI, JCD, PhD. So I am in a meeting now, well on a bit of a break and will be home on Wednesday. It promises to be a great meeting, hopefully I will have some photos later. Peace

Dog day
As some of you know, we are a dog friendly office here at St. Matthew. I am sure it was Fr. Jim Miceli at St. Mary in Rome that helped me enjoy dogs as an indispensable part of any parish office. The Georgia Bulletin did an article in 2005 about the joy of priest and their pets...they did not get me on that one (my feelings are not hurt...really, MY FEELINGS ARE NOT HURT IN ANY WAY!!!). Anyway, today was a busy dog day here at the parish, five of our four legged family members were here. Rosie, Molly, Bernie, Hudson & Rocky. Here are the photos...enjoy!
Found camera
I could not find my camera for the past few days. I had told you over here that I would post some photos from the Braves game I went to last week. Well since I could not find my camera...no photos. We had our First Communion for the children last weekend. It was a wonderful Mass, the children looked so cute and it was a very special time for our Parish Family. UPDATE:So the winner is our seminarian Mark Starr (darn engineers they ruin the fun so quickly, don't they...heheheheh). The correct answer is 40 degrees Fahrenheit. At 20 degrees Fahrenheit the water would be ice.

Serenbe
Well the ladies from St. Benedict in Duluth were here at St. Matthew for 11AM Mass. They had been over at Serenbe for the weekend. They told me they had a wonderful time. If you have not been over to that little slice of heaven in south Fulton county, you should go. They have a number of restaurants and plenty to see and do...or just relax a bit. I have told you about The Hil at Serenbe and how much I love the food. I also really enjoy the Blue Eyed Daisy Bakeshop. Well a few weeks ago on a beautiful day off Friday I went out for a nice lunch and a great hike around the place...is was fantastic. Go see for yourself. Here are my photos. Enjoy.
Too cute
I loves me some Boston Terriers, they are a great breed for a number of different reasons...but they are still Terriers and with Terriers you can always have Terrier Terror. I think the guy in this video is just anthropomorphizing the reaction of his dog (which is what most people do which is quite unfair to non-humans) but it is still a cute video. Enjoy.

Trippy time
I just had to share this beautiful work. Go here and select Clock from the menu on the left. This is a piece done by Christiaan Postma. It is a clock that tells time in a most unique way. If you go to the 3rd slide in the series you will see the clock in action.
The word “three” completely appears when it’s exactly 3 o’clock and will then transform again as time passes. The word “four” begins to appear and at exactly 4 o’clock the word “four” is clearly visible. The word “three” is by then totally vanished and no longer readable.

Over 50...excursion

Pure Fashion
I went to the Pure Fashion show yesterday, so that I could see some of our St. Matthew girls model some wonderful fashions. It was not just a fashion show, they had some inspirational speakers and some singers and a few dancers, they were even able to help fulfill a Make a Wish happen. It was a nice day with a bunch of young girls having the time of their lives...not so much for a guy my age, but it was still a good day. Our own Rhonda Boyle served as co-coordinator for the entire event, way to go Rhonda. Also good job to all the young women who represented St. Matthew, you did a great job! David Conley
You might have heard Deacon Bill mention David Conley in the homily this weekend. Some of you have seen David here on the blog (here and here). David took fourth place in the Lexus of South Atlanta, Star Performing Arts Competition. He won a nice $2000 scholarship, way to go David! Here is his performance from the event. He sang Caldara's Sebben Crudele and Scarlatti's Gia il Sole dal Gange. Enjoy

Good golly Ms. Molly
Ok I am leaving to go to south Florida and waiting for my flight to leave. So I have a curious celebrity sighting to pass along. I was sitting here in the Crown Room enjoy my beverage and who should be rolled out in his wheel chair??? I am sure you know already because of the title of this post, it was Little Richard...AAA--OOOOOOOOOO--- As he went by me he said: "Hey there, big fella." In a very macho kind of way. Anyway a brush with fame. Have a great Sunday.
