After lunch today, Deacon Gayle and I took photos of our ashes. Mine courtesy of Deacon Jim, and Gayle's courtesy of moi. Enjoy

Did you notice how segregated the Ash Wed 7pm mass was? The Hispanics (who were well represented) were in the back of the church and it wasn't because they came in late either. Oh well, proves the old adage Birds of a feather flock together.
I remember thinking at the time why do these people like to sit in the back of the bus? But then I remember that sitting in the back half of the church is a favorite pasttime of many parishioners - much to their pastor's shagrin.
I keep thinking that only 2% of the people there are going to be there on Friday night for stations. What do Wednesday and Friday both have in common? Neither are holy days of obligation.
