Xmas...yuck! Part VII

Do you see where the slippery slope of xmas gets us??? Now India gets involved.

Christmas Decoration

After the 11am Mass we had a swarm of folks come in to help us with setting up our tree and other Christmas decorations. Many hands made light work for all who were are part of the setup. Thanks to all, and to those who will come and put the finishing touches on the Church and Narthex. Peace!

Xmas...yuck! Part VI

I am not opposed to light shows, head to Newnan if you want to see a nice one done by a member of St. Matthew, but the dance version of Amazing Grace, I only have two words to say about that...Puh & Lees!

Ferris Wheel

This would be fun to play around on, either in the buckets or jumping about powering the thing. Sweet!

Lets try that again...

...this time with some emotion! Drew really could have shown some more excitement don't you think. You be the judge.

Xmas...yuck! Part V

Charo and Pee-wee Herman? Arrrrghhhh

Really stuck that landing!

Poor cow gets a beat down from the pilot. Enjoy.

This Boston in one smart pooch.

I like how he uses his tongue to open the cage. I think he is not so much freeing his friend as wanting to take what is in the other dogs cage.

UPDATE: Lets try that again with the correct video!

Lagos Nigeria

I stumbled upon this story (from siphoning off a few thoughts)and just had to let you read it, I laughed heartily at this one. Enjoy

About a year ago I shared a story about a crazy experience a friend of a friend had at the airport in Lagos, Nigeria. Here’s another one! This morning, at the airport in Brussels, I was chatting with a retired Scottish aid worker. He told about his friend who got on a flight in Lagos to find it completely full…plus one. One person was standing in the aisle with no seat. The flight attendants went through and checked that everyone had a boarding pass, which they did. (Apparently someone had a forged pass; welcome to Lagos.) The staff then made an announcement that everyone was going to de-plane and that they were going to check everyone’s boarding pass carefully.

As soon as the first person stepped off the plane, the staff slammed and locked the airplane door, despite the person’s cries and banging on the door. Problem solved.

Germans as well?

We all know that the Japanese have some crazy TV, but this one is from Germany in the 70's. It starts off ok...and then is weird really quickly. What do you figure is going on with this one?!1!!

Great book

This would be a great book for kids of all ages. I love the work especially OPQR. Enjoy

Xmas...yuck! Part IV

This is just too much, I mean really, come on now...Tom Jones this is just sad.

Xmas...yuck! Part III

Don't these people have anything better to do??? Like trying to fix the economy or something? Again Xmas reigns supreme...arghhhh!

Tumbleweeds

I used to go to a place called Tumbleweeds to dance when I was in college. This has nothing to do with that except for the thing featured in this video is a sweet tumbleweed tornado. Enjoy

Xmas...yuck! Part II

Who thought this would be a great idea? I can remember seeing this years ago and thinking it was a bad idea...seems I have not changed my mind on this one over the years.

They think we have forgotten

They even know how to treat humans when they abuse us. You have been warned.

I threw up a bit

After the penance service tonight the Fr.s took me to see the xmas
lights. "I enojyed it so!"?

Xmas...yuck!

Really I loathe xmas...really I hate it. Love Advent and Love Christmas, but hate xmas. Case in point.

Advent

This is why I loathe secular "chr'mas" Xmas. It is a slippery slope and we all know that there is where it can lead. Enjoy Advent and then when Christmas is ready to be celebrated, we will shun silliness like this (although you know I love cats and Christmas) and enjoy the birth of our Saviour Jesus!

6:27PM

It was on December 15, 1986 at 6:27PM that I remember seeing my father take his last breath. The time has always stuck with me. Last Friday 12DEC my dad would have turned 70years old, seems odd that thought. Dad was 48 when he died of complications with lung cancer, but mom was there by his side and most of the family had a good chance to say goodbye before he died. Although I have lived more time without him than I have with him, that is all just a farce, he is still with me in my heart and life, I see traces of him in myself and my siblings at times. Seems odd 22 years later 6:27 is still there in my head.

This is why I love Japan

Forget all that nonsense that I put up about how crazy they are in Japan (although they are crazy over there) this is the stuff that I love about Japan. I know I have posted about the bike parking before this is a great video showing the process of parking a bike. Enjoy!

My nephew Greg Foust graduated from the Oklahoma City Police Academy this past Thursday. NewsOK covered the graduation, but here are some family photos of the event. Congratulations Greg!

Mom and Dad with their graduate.

Grandma Rita, and Ol' Granny and Grandpa proud of their graduate.

Uncle Tony and the Galier children (fresh from school) were in attendence as well, quite proud of their nephew and cousin.

An act filled with grace...

Did you hear about the Marine plane that killed four people in San Diego? Well did you hear what the guy who lost those four, all members of his family, had to say about it? Pure grace! Lets keep all those affected by this tragedy in our prayers. Peace

Next year???

Maybe we can get this guy to come play for our St. Matthew Basketball team, well wadda'ya think?

Forget Cute

This mouse is far and away smarter than those cats from that last video. I don't know how you get a mouse to do this but it is impressive. Bonus credit to the video for having equally as cool music...Fanfare for the Common Man by Aaron Copland. The song is Olympic Fanfare and Theme by John Williams. Behold!

UPDATE: My older brother Tony told me I was wrong so I have updated the above for your deeper understanding. Sorry for the mistake. Peace

The cuteness will hurt.

This video is cute, but the music makes it. Enjoy

Advent Concert

We had a great Advent concert on Saturday night. Choirs from St. Matthew, Holy Trinity and St. Gabriel sang. It was wonderful and we had a nice crowd join us. I forgot my camera early on so not a ton of photos but here is what I got.

I also took a few videos, this is the only one that came out kinda okay-ish. Oh the out of sync clapping...ask Deacon Jim ;-)

Hosts

We don't use this company (we have in the past) but this is still kind of neat to see. Warning my least favorite song Bad to the Bone is in this video, yuck!

Fat Dog

Getting Fatter

FWIW, I love bean burritos from Taco Bell!

Two titles

Either: This cat needs some love, so give up the love NOW! or I really need to sell my yoga videos and I am committed to that cause "you bettcha!"

This will make you cry

This wonderful story of a dog looking out for another dog, quite touching. Enjoy

Over at HuPo there is a nice article about animals and this video in specific.

I can't make much with Legos

This guy built a machine the can solve a Rubik's Cube...man this is depressing.

Bet you can't guess where this guy is from...

His face is being sent little electric shocks and it makes his face dance funny to the beats of the music, weird and neat all at the same time. Oh and of course he is Japanese.

Saturday, December 06, 2008

Willy Wonka?

Does he need to escape your flight as well? Why does he not take his glass elevator? Why does he not have his hat off while on the plane? What is he doing on this flight safety card?

Friday, December 05, 2008

He shoots...

...well you know the rest. Enjoy

What phobia does this dog have?

Or do you think it just dosent' understand that the cans can easily be moved...still really cute! Enjoy

Say it ain't so

I hope this is not the truth because these are my favorite candy around this time. What do you think?

A mother's love

This one of for my sister Angela (and all who are mothers and all who like giraffes). You can just see the love of the mother (yes I know I am anthropomorphizing a bit) in this stunning photo. This is Sarabi nuzzuling her new baby at the Memphis Zoo. There are more photos here. Enjoy

Too sad...

This is just too sad for words...if you watch the video be careful, you might just cry a bit.

Publish or die?

Well beyond this blog I have been published in the Georgia Bulletin. Here is my letter to the editor...does this count as being published?

Nature

It appears in nature everything works itself out...enjoy!

From boingboing: "Minuscule it is a co-production of French national TV and the Disney channel. It's a combination of real world sets and CGI insects, sans dialog. Personally, I think the lack of dialog makes the creatures more humane, and adds incredible opportunities for visual humor. Few opportunities are missed, and few fail."

This is great to watch

This kid has a 19th birthday and the luckiest day all in one. enjoy!

Excited

This little dog sure is excited. Poor thing looks quite old, no teeth and cataracts. But he is excited. I bet you cannot watch this and not giggle a bit...if I had this dog I would have to give it treats each time it got excited, just too cute!

Turtle Hunter

This is a really unique video. I enjoyed watching it. Amazing how some people loose their teeth, especially the way this guy did. His yell is something to behold. I have to admit that I was secretly wishing one of the turtles would get a bite on him, oh well...enjoy.

Breaking on through, to the other side...

...of the speed of sound, POP!

(From the flickr stream of Mark Kelly)

Tons of fun

This would be some kind of fun...wish I had a kayak! Make sure to watch the video at the end, AWESOME! Here is the video.

This is wonderful

WE WON!!!!

These photos were from a previous game, but we won out game today against St. Gabriel!!! The final score was 44-43...we almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, but we held them off for the win. I only scored 3 points but at least I scored. Also there was an article in the Georgia Bulletin this week and your humble blogger got a mention. Also our great fans were mentioned as well. Way to go team! Oh this was our first win of the season and only our second win (last year we won because of a forfit...still a win).

Mobile phone

I am looking for a gently used cell phone for the Emergency Call ministry. Do you have a spare cell-phone about your house somewhere? If so could we have it. I need one that is fairly easy to use, can be used on AT&T network and has a decent batter and charger...got one that fits the bill? let me know. Peace

YOU NEED TO SEE THIS MOVIE

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is the name of the film. Here is a link to the trailer. You need to go see this movie, it is stunning, painful and eyeopening. Go see it soon, before it leaves the theatre. Be warned it is a difficult movie to watch but well worth the time and emotional captial to get through it. YOU WILL BE MOVED!

Watch this...

Fish blimp swim through the air...enjoy!

Dumb idea???

I think this is a pretty silly idea, what do you think?

Although it might be a way for our ROL to use us to create energy so they can live? Maybe!

eena meena deeka

Listen to the way she says crocodile

This is way to cute to put on the blog, but I just had to. With all the threats of robot overlords, I had to let you know that because of this cute little girl, we should be safe for a while. I cannot believe this extremely cute little girl and the fantastic tale she weaves. Enjoy!!!

His voice sounds funny.

I think the commentator on this video has been taken over by our (soon to be) Robot Overlords, just listen I am sure you will hear it as well. Of course lots of it is from Japan...coincidence? I think not!

Tuesday, November 11, 2008

Why do they always wear tuxedos?

Seems these guys always have one for that touch of class to their stunts...who knows!

Me??? Really???

Do you think this is me? These polls are very scientific so it must be true...

You Are Gonzo the Great

"Is something burning in here? Oh, it's just me."

You're a total nutball who will do anything for attention.

The first to take a dare, you'll pull almost any stunt.

You're one weird looking creature, but your chickens don't mind!

Perfect Shot

This guys aim is right on target...I guess.

Monkey waiters

I just don't know what to say about Japan...
It seems as if they are just creating things for me to post about.
I have always wanted a pet monkey but training them into waiters??? Maybe altar servers...but waiters? Enjoy the video bliss.

Sweet High-Speed photography!

This is my favorite image from a group of high-speed photography out on the net right now. They have some truly amazing images go take a look. Enjoy!!!

Seen this before?

Remember the guy in the sphere from the Berlin Marathon Expo, who knows maybe he ran it as well, but looks like he was having some fun with these cats...some fun huh?

funny pictures of cats with captions

Prayer before voting

I took a quick (very un-scientific) poll yesterday at the Masses to see who has already voted and most of the people at Mass had already voted. Here is a prayer from the USCCB a prayer to be prayed before an election. If you had gone to the USCCB site on Faithful Citizenship before you hopefully would have seen it already. I thought I would just post it again, as well as a link to our homily series from this summer). Peace

Lord God,
as the election approaches,
we seek to better understand the issues and concerns that confront our city, state, and country,
and how the Gospel compels us to respond as faithful citizens in our community.
We ask for eyes that are free from blindness
so that we might see each other as brothers and sisters,
one and equal in dignity,
especially those who are victims of abuse and violence, deceit and poverty.
We ask for ears that will hear the cries of children unborn and those abandoned,
men and women oppressed because of race or creed, religion or gender.
We ask for minds and hearts that are open to hearing the voice of leaders who will bring us closer to
your Kingdom.
We pray for discernment
so that we may choose leaders who hear your Word,
live your love,
and keep in the ways of your truth
as they follow in the steps of Jesus and his Apostles
and guide us to your Kingdom of justice and peace.
We ask this in the name of your Son Jesus Christ and through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

One question for Japan...

What the heck is going on over there????
Beware of the Rhino on the loose!!!!!

These pirates attacked Dallas

Here are two young pirates who brought in quite a haul in Dallas...more about that after the photos.

I guess one of the perks of living in Dallas is that when you knock on a door you never know who will be inside that house...none other than FLOTUS Laura Bush. They had a short discussion of the upcoming election and then that pirate was off to get more booty! Speaking of that booty, when these little pirates got home the stash at home for the other kids ran out, so these two pirates decided to share all of their candy with those who came looking for candy, what great little sharers.
If you have photos of your little ones out and about send them in I would love to post them. Peace
