Guadalupe

Today is the anniversary of my father's birth, he would have been 69 years old. But on a greater scale today is the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Today can also go down in history for the first time I celebrated Mass & preached in Spanish (not much to write home about, but more than enough to blog about). The homily was the same text, first in Spanish and then in English, again it was not much but it felt like an eternity preaching. It seemed to go well--and by it I mean my massacre of the Spanish language (no it really means the liturgy). It was great to see the church full, lots of my Hispanic, Anglo, & African-American children were in attendance. What a truly blessed man I am. Here are some photos of the fun. Enjoy

h/t to Leon for most of the photos.

Calling Fr. Vic

Where are you???
Well it has been some week. Monday meetings all day downtown, then back for the Penance service at Holy Trinity. Tuesday, more meetings downtown, then back for our Penance service. Today, Wednesday, busy all day with meetings, and preparation for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It has been busy and tomorrow will not be much different, as I will be teaching all day at OLV. I will get a few post out there tonight, after signing about 650 letters to the parish. Enjoy

Sunday Night Dinner

These are my brothers. We try to have dinner every Sunday night. This Sunday we had dinner at The Hil, in Palmetto. This was my second time to The Hil...and it will not be my last. I especially reccomend the Chips and Vidalia Onion Dip (mmmmmm) as well as the Mushroom Pizza and the smashed potatoes. They boys had a great time and I am sure we will be back (if Fr. Bryan can find the place again).

Google Maps

Hey the Parish needs some help. If you go here, you will see that the marker for St. Matthew is just down the street...but Google now allows for edits to be made, which is why I need your help. If you have a Google account you would go and move the marker for the parish, please! I would really appreciate it. thanks

my priesteem is hurting, drat

OK so today we had the chance to beat St. Theresa's, the team we had a win against the Sunday I left for Europe and our fellow basement dwellers in the Basketball League (I need to tell you, because of full disclosure, we beat them because they did not have a full team to field)...OK on to today, WE LOST :( Here are the photos from the lost. h/t to Beth

Day off breakfast

Friday was a great day off...not much done at all. I think I am getting better in touch with myself as I take time off and just do no work (well almost no work), I would attribute it to my great Sunday off in Berlin. So I went to Cracker Barrel on Friday for breakfast. Here are three photos: me working on the Sudoku, the meal I was busy eating when I snapped a photo (all for you my dear readers), and the final photo of the solved sudoku (under 10 mins, no pencil marks and done).
