OLM Pastor Shoot-out
Well the shoot-out went well. I went in my cassock and most thought I would shoot while wearing it...I had something else planned. Here are the photos.
I made $600 with my free throws and with St. Matthew having more people in attendance than Holy Trinity we also won $500 as well.
So for the whole night we made $1100 for the kids from St. Matthew who go to Our Lady of Mercy.
Basketball Shoot-out.
Don't forget tonights BB shoot-out at Our Lady of Mercy. It's me
against Fr. Mike. Be there for tip off about 7:30. The fun is at half
time. Make sure to tell then that you are part of St. Matthew as well
as everyone in your group. Bring your whole family. Heck bring your
neighbors as well!! See you tonight.

Deforestation
Some perspective on the issue. We are called to be stewards of creation. Me thinks we need to do more...

A nice article about cats in prison.
Amazing work of cats in a prisons in Indiana. If you are a cat person you will like this article.
"The Assistant Superindent of the prison tells me, “I know there are people out there who think the offenders shouldn’t have cats. Some people don’t want them to have TV or anything to do. But I would support this cat program at any prison. Those cats humanize the men. The cats give them unconditional love, for many of those guys, that may be the only love they have ever experienced in their lives. And the bottom line for me, is that my staff are safer because of it. Every day that none of my staff gets hurt—that’s a good day. Watching over these guys is a dangerous job. And anything that makes that job safer is good with me.”"

Ekklesia
Every Christmas eve for as long as I can remember my family has sang the song "Mary had a Baby" and "Silent Night". I have never had a place on the web to find that song, but my brother Tony found it and now you can hear it as well. It should be the first song that starts when the page loads but if not you can find it in the links. Enjoy!
